The Grayling Storm

An ode to family, a nod to the West.

The Grayling Storm is a meditative journey into the West. It explores my western heritage along the mountains of Northwest Colorado. It’s a visual odyssey--combining both archival imagery and personal photography--along with writing to celebrate one’s cultural backdrop and to answer the meaning of love, loss and legacy of family.

I was born and raised on a sixth generation cattle ranch, an upbringing spent working alongside cowboys and cattlemen, all family, and the women we called mother, aunt, wife and daughter. Today, however, most are gone. The Grayling Storm is my attempt to the burning desire to preserve what matters most to the heart even though the only constant in life is change.
